Meet Tabitha

Tabitha has been licensed in Massage since February of 2013, licensed in Full Specialty (skin & nails) since 2015 and certified in Yoga since 2023. She specializes in orthopedic techniques of the upper axial body, neck, cranium and face, incorporating multiple modalities into her own intuitive style. Her love of learning and adventurous spirit has led her career to a wide array of experiences, ranging from massage chains, to clinical environments to luxury, across multiple states.

Massage Beginnings

She developed an interest in massage and esthetics after strong encouragement from her adoptive Grandma Judy, a hippie who kept herbs dangling from the ceiling and believed Tabitha had a “lost talent from a past life” regarding healing touch. Tabitha used this inspiration to develop her own goals, becoming a Spa Professional as a foundational career while she works towards her end career goal of combining Expressive Arts Therapy and Yoga Therapy.

Yoga and Meditation Beginnings

Her exploration of meditation began at the age of 9, through reading books on the subject and she began yoga when she was 12 years old using her mom’s Crunch Fitness workout DVD in the living room. She knew from the first moment of savasana that she wanted to teach yoga and in her mid 20’s, had the privilege of a private mentorship with David Anderson. By the early 2020’s, it became apparent that she had a calling to answer after being asked about anatomy and asana by an instructor during a class she was taking as a student. After this, she completed certification and has been offering free yoga in Greenwood Cemetery since November 2024. She is a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 and her approach to yoga is heavily influenced by Classical and Viniyoga methods.

Art

The Arts are close to Tabitha’s heart, in part thanks to her maternal Granny Guzman and in part to her amazing teachers who facilitated arts programs for disadvantaged youth. She graduated from Cypress Lake High School as a vocal arts major in 2008 and danced most of her life, from the age of 5 to present, focusing on Belly Dance since 2010. Her own arts background is expressed through her belly dancing, dance fitness classes, fascination with the anatomy of voice and various mixed media art projects.

Autonomy

A born maverick, Tabitha embraces autonomy, free-thinking, and creativity and is described by the Stand Out Assessment as a “Creator & Connector”.

Direct and no-nonsense, she is proudly known for asking her bosses uncomfortable questions like “Why are the spa attendants being blamed for an issue that is housekeeping’s responsibility?”, “Why did you hire a person with no spa experience to be a luxury spa front desk lead?”, “Why are my clients who request me being booked with my colleague instead, when we work in a luxury establishment and their preference should be guaranteed when the therapist is available?”, “Why was my colleague written up for something they didn’t do and I KNOW they didn’t do because I was there and no one asked me? What are the investigative procedures for a write up?” and a personal favorite, “If I continued the massage per client request, that could have resulted in a malpractice lawsuit because I’m a healthcare professional and this is a healthcare establishment. Do you want a malpractice lawsuit from the client? Because in this case, they are NOT right and we could be set up for a lawsuit if we comply”, resulting in write ups for “Continuous Negative Feedback” and termination for not meeting customer service expectations after an attempt to unionize.

She is an advocate for self employment, disability representation, professional expertise, reduced local bureaucratic red tape and loves trade unions.
